Have you tried the file on another machine?
Do you by any chance have Reaktor running in the set?
Have you tried creating a new user and firing it up in that?
Moved all plugs out of their folder in Library? Disabling plugs in Live prefs may have the same effect. Tbh doesn't sound like a plugin prob but who knows.
Good luck.
YES, yes, yes, what is it with Reaktor and Ableton???

Infact, time for a new thread about that. .

No offense

i am having the exact same error with version 7.0.3

never once did i use a newer version with the problematic .als

i am tempted to reformat

what pisses me off the most is that i created the .als in 7.0.3 and from out of the blue it does not want to open
No offense, but it sounds like a cracked version?
In this case there's not much we can do.

If it's a legit version, install Live 7.0.14, check if it still happens and send us your serial (can't find a registration for your email) and Live set to [email protected] and we're happy to take a look at the problem.

Cheers,
Dom

Update to the latest version of Live 8.

This thread was about Live 7.0.3 and goes back more than a year. Files not loading is a common bug shortly after release and is usually fixed by the x.1 update.
If the .als file is really corrupted but not a 0kb file, Ableton Support can usually fix that file.
