I'm sorry to hear that.My sincere condolences.
I still have my parents but I shiver when I think that is going to happen someday,
so I can understand your pain.
I think It will take time but in the end you'll put it behind you.
Look ahead even if it will be hard, very hard in the beginning. It's one foot after the other. You have to be strong. I wish you all the love and energy in the world to ease your pain.

im sorry to hear. my cousin's husband was first hospitalized 3 weeks ago, where they found cancer, already in the lungs, lever and the blood... they gave him 'some months' but he passed away 3 days ago. 65 y/o. stopped smoking just 2 years ago, after 40 years..

Mike,

The courage it takes to throw your heart out into the wide open, is a wonderful testament to the quality of the woman who raised you.

Your message has sent a chill up my spine, a reminder to make the time for those I hold dear, and to do it now. thank you.

Over the last few years, it seems every year one side of my family or another struggles with loss. Some have passed with exhuberant grace, others with dignity, but none will ever be able to top my Uncle Fred.
A huge man, big boned in size at over 380 lbs of gristle. 50+ years of working in the Oil fields of Alberta, Canada gave him a truly stone cold demeanor and serious work ethic. No body even really knew he was sick until it was too late - so chemo was a long shot. Sick, weak and with no appetite - he and our aunt struggled together to keep his weight up. Through it all he was still himself though. After a heavy treatment, our Aunt decided to try some medicinal marijane brownies to bring back his appetite. She may have been off on the dose, as we found Uncle Fred in the kitchen, in his underwear, surrounded by a completely dissasembled stove. Tore the whole thing apart, down to the last nut. It needed fixing and being the workhorse he was, he set right to it...
Determined till the end (weeks later he passed), he was a blast. I miss him still.

when my laptop died, I was raging for what seems like forever. I hadn't taken the time...to be with it during it's final days. If.....if only I had backed up...all I had to do was make that small step. It's an experience that changed me for the better.

also, heroin helps with grief.
