instead of posting my own topic, I'll just post it here.
I would also like to buy a set of monitors.
I'm a dj who occassionally tries to make some music too.
Because of this, and because I play a lot of dubstep and electronica that relies HEAVILY on bass sounds, the most important for me is to have a very good, warm bassound.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Recently bought them and couldn't be happier.

anybody have any experience with the smallest speakers from funktion one?
I know they're not really monitors. But for somebody who uses his set up mainly for dj-ing, I thought it might be fun. If they are as good as the systems they place in clubs...

monitors are a minefield m8,just as big a minefield as wot soundcard to get.
iv just got hold of yamaha hs80m's

and im over the moon with them.
i done a sound test mid last year with krkrokit8's

while both sets have the same detailed mids and highs,
the krk's seemed a lil boomy(if thats the word im after), while the yams where tighter than in the trouser department, plus the yams look sik with they white coned sexyness,(like the old ns's).
dont take any ones word for it m8, take a cd with music that you know inside and out, and do a comparision in a shop, its the only way, unless you know people that have the monitors you like, then its just a case of getting your money out.

If you have a small studio I would go for some genelec 8020A.

Had some friends that switched from bigger studio monitors (KRK Rokit RP 6 ) to these and comparing them side by side was an eye opener.. It was like seeing mist evaporate...
