that macs are generally less hassle. it that is not just a lame statement, i would love to see a proper statistics of how many times OSX crashes or you need to restart it for functioning or accepting a new device attached to it, etc. because that would include all the exceptions as well, yes they are a few peeps who bought a mac and it was a monday shit model...
just take 500 mac users at random and 500 windows users at random (from all sorts of skill levels with computers) and let them make a statistic of how many times they run into problems... over the time period of a year.
apart from the facts which have been over and over mentioned having all the convenience, a mac just works IS true...
just take a mac out of the store home... you switch it on and pretty much all you have to do is installing your preferred audio software, the rest (you don't even need to install 3rd party plugs, cause OSX comes with high quality ones, some are even better then the ones in Live, by the way) and you don't need to perform the slightest tweak... and have a running system. plug your keyboards and controllers, soundcard in and off you go...
you can argue however you want, that all the tweaking, extra knowledge about windows you need to acquire, etc. is not from importance to YOU...
fact is! in windows you have to put all this extra energy in... in OSX not.
OSX is the more comfortable platform to work with + that in especially many areas of audio use (not just home studios, i mentioned a few pages back a whole list of it)
everything else to go into details has been mentioned over the last 10 pages, it has never been about the subject wether you can't produce any decent music with a PC vs a MAC or not!!!
that PCs can work was said many times and no one unless he is totally stupid would disagree.
it is about that windows is more energy, time and knowledge consuming then OSX to get it flawless working. (and not just counting running Live on it, go back a few pages and read all the issues where i posted knowledge about the difference in getting our PCs at work for certain audio tasks set up or my Mac)
