I believe it was on macrumors, which I generally find to be more reliable than other mac fan-sites (esp. thinksecret). It may be applied the same way, but the finish is completely different, and the Nano finish is protected under a layer of clear plastic. The plactic that everyone was bitching about scratching so easily.
My TiBook from a few years ago was flaking at the hinges. Apple never opted for a fix for the issue, and My computer ran just fine anyway.
I suppose if you pay $150 for the Black finish, you are more concerned with appearance than the comp's performance anyway.
