It has in fact nothing to do with Ableton Live. You can use any Midi Monitor to see that the BCR stops sending data, yet still receives data.

Thanks for your reply... I tried to do that, too... but they simply didn't answer. They marked the ticket as sucessful... I explained in very very intricate detail all the steps that I had taken. Make sure you eliminate yourself from 'doofus' category, where a lot of the human race reside.
Bear in mind that all support departments are given a big red button marked Doofus, that they reflexively hit if there is any hint that the person contacting them has not eliminated every variable.
Anyway - I sent them a bullet list of everything I had tried. The wrote back and said - send us your unit we will replace it.
3 days later I had a new unit and it has worked perfectly ever since.
