I recently had more and more problems with my Behringer BCR2000 which stops sending data 10 seconds after plugging it in. Googled about the problem and found several others with the same problem. So I wrote the Behringer guys, because if this is a known bug, they must have a solution, right?

Now the funny part... this "answer" came:

unplug the BCR2000 and install the Mac OSX operating system again

Anyone interested in a BCR2000? You only need to reinstall your OS....

it's a hardwareproblem you need to swap it.

Did they tell you that? Did you send back yours...?

You can't reinstall drivers as the unit doesn't need any additional drivers on OSX...

I just send them an answer back that I won't reinstall the whole mac etc... if they don't fix the problem I'll join the group of those who keep posting about Behringer crap hardware, sell it (or burn it) and get a new device from a proper manufacturer.

One time my BCR went nuts, but it was a conflict with the IAC.

Tis' fine now, as are my always happy usb ports that run like 7 devices off one port no problem

yes, except not - at least the laptop ones; They're notoriously underpowered... Several complaints, also on this forum, over the last couple of years, since the macbooks came out. Powered hubs are essential.

weird.. I have never experienced that.. maybe I don't have power hungry devices..

On Mbooks apparently the left-side usb port is better powered. What have you tried in terms of trouble-shoooting? You could start by creating a new user and see if that has the same problems. Also try the BCR on another machine if poss.

imho if your going to run a bunch of hardware you depend on off of one usb port it really makes sense to power that hub.
