Are you saying the UK has a U2 based economy? Now THAT is truly an impressive accomplishment for a band.

But I think Iceland already has that going with Bjork.

i forgot that they had some more albums after the one with all the pics on the cover, where they hang out in north africa or something. I really liked that album about 20 years ago

If U2 were any good at least one of them would have died about 10 years ago breaking up the band and giving us all a memory of a great band at the top of their game. However nobody has died and the drivel they put out along with the tight leather and big sunglasses are just all too much for me to take in these days.

Plus how can "The Edge" justify his name while being a tea drinking, pyjama wearing old man.

They played on a rooftop in London recently and I was moved on for shouting "jump".

Makes me laugh, all these people calling U2 old cunts, when a good proportion of these detractors ain't exactly drinking from the fountain of youth themselves .... and no I am not a U2 fan (I think they've written maybe 7 or 8 good tracks in 26 years and dozens of albums, most of it is mundane), but when people come on here singing the praises of ferking Deadrat and Tiesto, I would sit all day long listening to back to back U2 albums from War all the way up to their latest before I would listen to 2 measly tracks of theirs. Bono is a twat - do you actually know the dude personally to make that statement (nope). Even if his music is sh*t and he is a twat, he is personally responsible for many lives being saved and improved living conditions for thousands of impoverished people across the globe, while you probably walk on by and yell at homeless dudes to 'get a freakin' job'. Let's see the bigger picture here and this includes Eno - Eno is a talent, but Daniel Lanois is the best thing that happened to U2 - the fact he has not been involved much in the last 2 or 3 albums until this release, has really shown in the boredom factor. Lanois is a truly innovative and outstanding producer of our time and that goes for his work with Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, The Neville Brothers and Willie Nelson too, not just U2.

Gabriel is, in fact, the one pop star who actually seems to have some HUMILITY when taking on causes.

Beyond the fact that U2 never did a thing for me, they pretty much killed one of the best live bands I ever saw with lawsuits, Hypocritical assholes IMO.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negativlan ... d_incident

Negativeland were one of the most entertaining live acts I've ever seen. Pulling stunts like getting a car lot to loan them a car for a 'raffle', and having the raffle be a game show that 'contestants' played to try to win the car. It was so obvious that the song was parody, and at the same time U2 were pulling live TV feeds by pirating satellite TV, Before anybody says that the label was at fault, U2 are big enough to get whatever they want, it's simply BS to think otherwise.

Anyway fuck it flame away, but the facts are facts, U2 are self righteous douche bags IMO.
