it is not a moan from moi -its a legit complaint- and if we are defining intelligence ,and measuring success in the same breath- then live 8 is a premature baby that should have been properly cared for before release-with the frikkin basics covered!!i am sorry to upset the uber apple cart-if something isnt working right i reserve the right to discuss/or complain without being called a pussy or a drama queen,be it live 8 zero .1.2.3.wotever-
would u accept it if u had purchased hardware ??i believe ableton will correct issues soon enough but please less of the insults but ableton need to preserve some kind of quality control before releasing and charging for there products that just seems common sense to me

log what bugs you can and wait it out.

it would suck to buy software that doesn't work. using the demo would help with some of the hindsight issues.

the OP does not strike me as a n00b, he'll figure it out.

WTF's up w the title to the thread? I bet not even most the people running Live w/out problems are even chiming in here because the title has a definite slant.

Live 8 is stable for me, so like everyone else has added.. quit crying. "We" as indicated by your thread title is much smaller than you seem to think... you guys just cry louder.

I've used Live 8 for gigs and so far no issues to speak of and don't find it slower than 7. But moaning you can't play live with 8, you should work that out before going anywhere near a stage!

Ok My point of view here.

As A can't afford yet the price of the full version, I'm running Very lite version from bundles with hardware controlers I bought.

I now have version 4lite, 6lite and 7 Lite (which means only very limited scenes and Fx sends)[please don't laugh at me lol] but As I use Glitch sequencer with it, not really a problem at the moment I can wait to have the money.

BUT What a disappointment when I went to the upgrading page and saw that I can NOT do an upgrade to 7 anymore.

I have to spent a few more bucks (not the problem though) for the version 8. without being able to have the 7.

Understand me, I run the lite version for some time now, I tried the happily ubber demo version of 8, so I could compare and I am confident with 7 for live sessions but not with 8.

I now have 3 licences >>two activated and one not installed yet.
this last one, I'm hesitating, I don't want X versions of the same program, I would like to merge those in one big update [maybe with a little reduce ^^]but I want ableton 7 not 8.

I just want to wait a bit for upgrading to 8, while i would work with 7 full (not suite in a first time)

sad not being able to own 7 and being forced for 8

So I can really understand the concern here

same here.
some people here should take a good hard honest look at themselves, before hating/judging others for their opinions.

Live 8 suite installed a running as expected for me.

BUT... I wonder if I'm up and running in this capacity because I freshly loaded my OS and am only running Ableton Live 8?

Too many times I've tried running multiple apps and multiple versions of apps on the same OS. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is the solution to the people that are having problems... just my way of doing things because I've ran into those other peoples problems and found this to be a great solution.

That's too much of a hassle for most people to do. So these people need more help. However every instance needs to be examined case by case. This takes a long time and only works if those instances are reported as bugs.

To the OP: are you submitting the problems you're having as bugs? It's one thing to say "This 'x' thing doesn't work" and another to submit the log files to go along with so people can fix things. If you feel you don't need to then I totally agree with you about reverting to version 7.

It's just short of a MIRACLE that the SAME software can run on literally a MILLION different computer configurations... just not yours (which sucks).

no crazy problems here.

i've used 8 extensively and only got it to crash twice. And i'm doing way more to the poor thing than i do when i play live. I've had it slow down and act funny a few times too, but nothing that would make me say it's unusable. It's just like every other piece of software i've ever used in terms of stability, maybe even better.

8 crashes for me over and over during sessions in my studio when I'm torturing it, but my performance set has no issues, last gig was 5 hours, not a problem.

In the studio I use tons of 3rd party plugs, which I blame for all the crashes, because my performance set is 100% Ableton, and I just cannot get that to crash. It's rock solid.

So it is what it is for me, I can make it work.

@bounce- The very first graphical user interface was developed by the Xerox Corporation at their Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in the 1970s. Steve Jobs, visited PARC in 1979 (after buying Xerox stock) and was impressed and influenced by the Xerox Alto, the first computer ever with a graphical user interface. Jobs designed the new Apple Lisa based on the technology he saw at Xerox. The original Mac OS was partially based on the Lisa OS.

I work at PARC. Yes I've heard of Apple. If you think they are the answer for you then by all means use Apple. However it seems to me there are more people with Mac problems here than Windows problems. Maybe I haven't read enough posts yet.
