stockylocky wrote:Hi all, I have owned suite editions of live since 7 and love it as a program. However the real reason I purchased live 8 when it was released was for the heavily advertised max 4 live. I also liked the idea of live online collaberations which still does not work correctly. Obviously m4live is only arriving now and with a hefty price tag - how come is early adopters aren't being rewarded for our patience with some form of discount? Instead ableton are clearly only after the new buck offering discounts to new buyers. This makes me very sad as I've always felt ableton do actually care however a lot of us paid for features we still don't have because we were acting in good faith. Also considering the number of is who have supported the new hardware releases from the off is it wrong of me to expect a little loyalty back in the form of a discount for m4l?
This makes so little sense. You this Ableton Live owners should be rewarded with a discount? You do realize that Max4Live is only for people who own Ableton Live right? What would be the sense of releasing a product that could only be used by certain people and offering a discount to everyone who could possibly use it? Would you feel better if Ableton released Max4Live at 399, but sold it to people who own Live for 299? Or maybe they should just give a discount to people that purchased Live 8 before a certain date. Ya that would be pretty fair to people who bought it after that date eh?

If you don't want to be an early adopter then don't buy early.

I'm absolutely shocked by words like "cheated" being used for someone who happily and willingly purchased something, received exactly what they were to expect and continue to be able to use it. What a complete nonsense post.

plus, early adopters have no patience, which is why they adopt early.

I'm not bothered at all about paying for great software up front, the price doesn't bother me.

Constant upgrades are painful though, and a reminder of the one major benefit of buying a classic hardware synth etc.

how many live licenses are sold? i guess many more than the ones that don't work? while there are more with problems today, might be related that there are more actual ableton live users, too, that's why. most have no problem, most have a great life with live, and never issues.

so, actually, if it's a problem, it should get fixed, but it has a big chance, it's very specifically a problem that mostly only you have, or a small user group.

then again, i'm a happy guy. none of my softwares ever really failed on me, none of my oses from 2000 to xp for years to vista ever did. (don't let us remember non-nt stuff :)). might be luck, might just be me :)

Live 8 works great. OP is a whiny bitch with a tired, pointless argument.

Pussies.

Fuck me kill this thread before I kill myself - ON A FINAL NOTE MY EXPERIENCE OF LIVE 8 HAS NOT BEEN GOOD SO OVERALL I FEEL CHEATED! if you don't agree fine but my feelings are legitimate. Many others also agree that the release of 8 has left them feeling like beta testers I happen to be one of them. THIS IS NOT A CRIME why all the hate? I am entitled to an opinion but I accept that I should have more wary before I purchased. Period and I mean no nastiness to anyone so why be nasty to me ?

you should not feel cheated, you should try to fix it, or call help. there's a great thing from ableton called support. they should get it your problems working.
