The Descent 2 was very nice but the dual endings of the first one make the beginning of the sequel a bit confusing.

I just came back from Splice, which arguably looks like a remake of Species but this one is way cooler/creepier. I liked and I hope they don't do a sequel for it.

That movie was great, I was hesitant on watching it at first when I saw that the people responsible for those god awful Resident Evil movies were involved in this production but it turned out to be a cool movie with a nice little twist at the end.

Anything by Kurosawa is pretty much guaranteed to be at the least good, if not mind blowing.
Personal Favorites are Ran and The Bad Sleep Well.

Going for ones people might not have seen, Horror wise:

Clean Shaven- disturbing psycho thriller, severally under appreciated movie, really good.

Nekromantik - Necrophilia as romance movie drama, has to be seen, really. Black comedy has never been blacker.

Night of the Hunter- classic suspense horror, the original character with Good and Evil tattooed on his knuckles, a homicidal preacher.

Let the Right One In - Best vampire movie in years, more like a allegory about the life of an outsider than a horror movie, touching actually.

Midnight Meat Train- second best Clive Barker adaptation, mainly just fun.

Also check out "Human Centipede" very f*cked up movie.
