What are you talking about with triple finger dragging? This is the only option that 3 fingers has:timothyallan wrote:triple finger dragging is pretty neat, just tried it with Live for an hour. Triple finger dragging up and down over macro knobs works, as well as for dragging clips around.
Horizontal and vertical scrolling is cool as well.
No such thing as triple finger dragging on this macbook pro.

OK, updated, I'm on board. Not just 3 finger dragging, but 2 as well. 3 for micro, 2 for macro. I'm liking this.

I love the trackpad on my macbook pro, especially the gestures. Compelled to check out the new gesture features on the latest update.
I never use the click anymore. I'm all about tapping and swiping (sounds kind of dirty). A few of us were using my MBP at a gig, and I had to stand by everyone, cause they were all super confused. Was kind of funny. Reminded me of this:

Luckily it never got to the point where anyone actually started hitting and abusing it.
BTW that "magic" trackpad would be cool if it worked with a stylus as some sort of tablet.

Loving everything about the magic trackpad except the "magic" bit in the name 
3 finger drag works really well on VST knobs and for zooming around samples and the arrangement view. Really nice for selecting notes in the piano roll too. Will be buying another one of these as this was meant for my work desk but it's staying at my music one now!

you can get a wacom with multitouch cheaper and the wacom its better

I never used to like using trackpads for music making, but it's definitely something I've gotten more and more used to. When I'm out and about, I stopped bringing the mouse more and more and just using the trackpad. The new MBP gestures are really helpful, being able to flick through an arrange view quickly is helpful, as is the expose functions I mentioned before. I never really used Expose that much in the past either, but this makes it easier.
I'm kind of curious to see if this is something I could use daily, even doing the mastering thing.
