i've had mine for years and love them, but not for mastering. i always miss stuff.Tarekith wrote:I have some Alesis M1 MKII's here as well for my DJ set up. While I by far think these are the best monitors under $1000, they are in no way good enough for mastering. If nothing else they don't go nearly low enough for most dance and electronic music. Not saying it can't be done, just that you better have an alternate playback system to use to check your work on.
MASTERING!!
Macbook 2ghz c2d, 2gb ram, osx 10.5.5, live 8.0.8, fw-1884, ms20, x-session, 2xLP

4. Web administration to set up FTP accounts for your clients
Money isnt an issue! It just looks like i have to get my techniques in flow and get used to these fucking expensive but useless monitors!!
thanks neb!
and cant wait to see this next post by Tarekith!
love communities which help rather than "omfgzzzz wtfffffffff n00b11!11!!1one!!!"
you have no clue what you're doing but you want to charge money...
I'm all for helping over hating but this is ridiculous. why should anyone pay you money, you should pay other people for source material to practice on. this is unethical. what would you know that the person who made the track doesn't?
by all means learn to engineer tracks but sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken (fight club reference, not the .gif).

I have serious respect for the people up in here who have paid their dues, and there are people on this forum that do FAR MORE heavy shit than we know, REAL industry people. this isn't grade school, this is the real world.
not hating just talking about paying your dues before you earn your stripes.

it's all that curry neb eats, softens the stool, gives it that warm, tingly sensation.aburgener wrote:it's ok... it was a soothing, warm shit right down my face.
i kind of enjoyed it compared to the rest of the shit that's been flung at me at my real job today
one thing's for sure, if neb takes shit under his wing, he's got a good start.

cool. it's music man, this is serious shit.
you'll know when I beat someone down, or try to, I usually end up beating myself down.
I've heard of a book made for another DAW, maybe Pro Fools. it comes with a CD of tracks from different genres, each track is broken down into its instruments. then the book walks you through adding, EQing etc each track. I'd love something like that as I'm always futzing with my own noises and don't really care about polishing them for 'release'.
