The speed bump for the chips is almost guaranteed, Intel has already released the new chips and apple always want to be the first with the latest and greatest chips.

MACPROs have already be updated, MACBOOK PROS's will be next. you might even get a blue ray burner as an option for the MBP.

Question is who is making the MBP with the damn Agere firewire chipset?

I'm hoping the MACPROs and the new MBP go back to TI firewire.

I don't think there will be touch screen but multi touch finger pad would be a good idea + 800mhz ddr 2 RAM

I think they are going to announce the release of the A-Ha! special edition ipod where everything on the screen looks like it was drawn with charcoal.

well, just to conclude this thread, I agreed a buy now pay 6 months interest free for the MACBOOK Pro today and apple and the finance company have agreed under their no quibble 14 day money back guarantee to swap my product if anythng better emerges that I want on Tuesday at Macworld :) I can't lose...delivery won't be arranged until Tuesday/Wed the earliest anyway, but at least I get to take advantage of the interest free deal as well.

lol apple will happily launch a quad core (that admittedly bursts into flames after 15 mins, but you crave it all the same) and the tell you to get fucked when you try and get them to honour their promise

i have a feeling this macworld is going to be absolutly ape shit bonkers. i mean they gave a considerable speed bump to the mac pros with nearly no broughaha earlier this week. you can bet your sweet ass it will be new hardware goodies time.
