Only if we are talking about videos. No comparison at all. Just some other music I enjoy from artist on the same label. Hell, check them all out!friend_kami wrote:hope youre not comparing aphex and squarepusher to autechre though.Moody wrote:Glad you finally found them. Now go check out Aphex and Squarepusher.
speaking of autechre: their latest album is aweful.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

It kind of worked the other way for me,,Tone Deft wrote:daft punk joke aside (had to be done) Autechre does some of the most amazing programming ever. they really opened my ears up to new sounds and ideas.
it was the idea of taking sounds that have no musical quality on there own,, but are made to combine in a very cool and complimentary ways.
I also like the way they arrange a song,,,
I find a lot of the second and third tier IDM ding-dongs that load up a max patch or a reaktor ensemble,, take a few audio files and mess with them in live,, then combine the whole lot in some random fashion,, then every one digs it because it sounds "Fresh and innovative" seem to miss the point that music needs to have some kind of direction,, even if it doesn't have a destination,, it should still be an interesting journey.
