On a serious note (well, as serious as you can be with such a ridiculous "competition"), I wonder if this parochial voting has just started since they allowed the public to vote via phone or sms. Was it always a public vote or did it used to be a panel of "experts" that would decide back in the days of Abba and My Lovely Horse? I reckon if you looked at the year-on-year voting most countries would be shown voting for the same neighbours every year, regardless of the song.

I think even when it used to be a 'panel of experts' the voting was quite geographically motivated, but its much worse / better now (however you want to look at it). i dont actually watch the songs, i just watch the voting..its great fun trying to get the 8,10,12 in the right order..you know iceland will favour denmark, macedonia will choose albania then serbia / bosnia etc..
