guitars have souls, they were once trees that were living things, they twist and swell (don't go there neb, don't go there) with age. synths on the other hand are synths. older ones are quirky, need to be temperature compensated and all that but we're not talking those. IMO all Voyagers will sound identical, I feel comfortable in saying that I bet Moog as a company have very good testing and tuning abilities.
there's also the neck shape, scale length, fretboard shape, body resonance that if you like Strats and LPs then you buy one.
Satriani tells a story of a cheap ass Strat (Squier) that he found in a shop that is amazing. with all the variations in the mfg process once in a while the planets align and the cheap shit is awesome.
those two body styles are the most copied body style. get a knockoff and install your own parts, or go with a similar high end model like a Heritage Guitar instead of a Gibson or a Valley Arts instead of a Fender.
