Live 7 was released on the 30th November but they had major problems keeping up with the demand for upgrades and boxed copies, which I don't think they solved until the end of January. You could argue it wasn't really released 100% until then.
So I doubt we'll be seeing Live 8 this year, probably not even an announcement though they might have to or risk losing sales over the Christmas period as people hold off until it is announced (and to get the free upgrade).

That's fine with me. I don't want to compose with anything else, so I'll wait. I'm totally happy with Live 7.

Personally, I cannot imagine them missing the potential extra Christmas cash.
I imagine they will be aiming for late November / early December.
That would mean no news of Beta until Sept/Oct.

If they do release Live 8 this year the shit will hit the fan - two paid for upgrades within a year would be totally taking the piss. I got caught up in the delays last time round so didn't get mine until mid January. I'm not normally one to moan about paid for upgrades but if it comes out any time before February they will be getting plenty of feedback from me on the subject.
