I am starting to feel left out because of the new devices that I can't use.

Nothing to do with fanboyism. I just have a tiny understanding of how business works and am dismayed by much of society's attitude of thinking they deserve something because someone else has it. I'd love to live in the utopian paradise live users seem to expect. I'd be more than happy if ableton just gave me m4l for free because I own the suite and have used it since v4. Exactly what companies do you usually buy from? i'll be their fanboy if they deliver what people expect from ableton.ze2be wrote:We do love rants, dont we.
But fanboy rants, thats just cute!
What, in your estimation, would prevent this heinous sequence of events? Just never have a sale?fcarroll wrote:Wow screwed big time, bought Intro first to test it out ..... Then bought Live 8 ..... Agreed. I just hate when people can't take responsibility for their own actions and decisions. Someone decides it is worth it for them to spend money on something and subsequently it is given away in a promo so all of a sudden they become a helples victim like they were forced into something. It is bad luck when someone buys something that will later be cheaper, but people really need to take ownership of their own decisions. Over time these things all even out anyways, sometimes you're on the lucky side, sometimes not...andydes wrote:Nothing to do with fanboyism. Cross selling to existing customers with a better offer for M4L would be better, I would think that Suite customers that would like to have ML4 far out way the customers that would want to upgrade to Suite. First thing they should do is ask the customers, simple email asking, hey Mr. Suite if I offered you ML4 for $99 would you avail of the offer .... Hey Mr. Live 8 if I offered you free M4L would you buy Suite? Then it's a case of reviewing the data.polyslax wrote:What, in your estimation, would prevent this heinous sequence of events? I have no interest in M4L myself, so I'll be sticking with Live 7. This is certainly the run up to the real sales though.
Me too. Musikmesse April 9, the announcement of live 9.ze2be wrote:You guys are right. But it still gets a bit rantaholic arround here, if ya know what I meanIm a fanboy btw.
On a positive side note: I can smell Live 9, and the sent is rather strong!
Given Angstrom's excellent points about M4L, it seems to me a better deal to wait for Live 9 to be announced - if there is even going to be such a thing - and get some idea of the future direction Ableton are taking with it, then upgrade to L8 with a free upgrade grace period for L9 included, if there is such an offer.ze2be wrote:On a positive side note: I can smell Live 9, and the sent is rather strong!
Oh indeed. I generally try and avoid it, but every now and then it does you the power of good. I'll sleep well tonight.ze2be wrote:You guys are right. But it still gets a bit rantaholic arround here, if ya know what I meanIm a fanboy btw.

Not sure about that. Remember that Live 9 development was completely postponed when Ableton launched their "campaign" to rid Live 8 of its most serious crash related bugs, and that postponement has probably affected Live 9 pretty strongly.ze2be wrote:On a positive side note: I can smell Live 9, and the sent is rather strong!
Well, this debate was ok until all the ranting started. I agree on some of the first points on page 1 and 2. But when some kids cries out for free stuff, older kids scream back asking them to shut up, as usual. And before you know it, the 10 next pages becomes a rant war.Angstrom wrote:If NI Razer is great value at €50 (or however much) for use in their player, then I'm sure that everyone here will be just fine about paying for equivalent content for the M4L player too ? yes?
No complaints?
Good point!headquest wrote:Synths are for musicians, not M4L programmers only!
This bothers me the most...headquest wrote:...or will M4L become ever more essential in order to get the full Ableton Live experience.
