If we're simply going to be using one shots, why not just use Reason, for example?
excellent point.

As far as I know, all loops are made of single shot samples.... We're making a new challange.... stay tuned.

Guys, I'm thinking as there's 5 days till the next one why not lets carry on with this one? - I started something and I'd be interested in seeing what everyone else would have done - all the posts in the thread had a point but it was Frederik654 who pointed out theres no reason not to carry on - do both??

consider it a warm up? Maybe even it could serve as a platform for creating samples for the next one?

I think I'll carry on anyway, I'm just saying if anyone else wants to - might as well

I tell ya! I wish I hadn't said anything now - I'm really surprising myself the sounds I'm getting out of these samples - I think putting so much emphasis on the samples/loops was a bit lacking in imagination and underestimating Live - especially L4

Christ if like ekko said not using loops doesn't utilise live's capabilities then we should just allow consolodating/resampling - maybe to a limited degree - I kind of think we should anyway as it's one of live's strong points

seriously, just see what you can do with this one if you have time, I'm really eating my words

Painseeker you should have ignored us! :?

Geez guys, that's what I was sayin' .

Maybe Painseeker opened some new doors for all of us.

There is a traditional composition assignment where you must make an entire piece out a 3 second snippet of audio. Pretty intense.

Seriously, that stuff about loops is sooooo not true. Besides, bung the oneshots into impulse, make a beat, loop it - there's yer loop! Put clip envelopes on that!

[/rant :) ]

Now, *I* am also going to finish what I've started, as a warm-up, hehe.

I'm up for that, provided I can use at least an EQ and a delay.

How about giving each person a kick, a snare and an open hihat or cymbal, each in both normal and reversed form, and having them build a track from that, EQ3, Filter or Grain Delay, and the Resonators. Nought else.

Yes, I'm serious - though that's maybe only for the hard core minimalists..?
