Then its incumbent on the citizenry to oppose war that the citizenry doesn't want. If there's no consequence of war to the citizenry, then there's no incentive to NOT wage war, and there's no incentive to oppose unjustified war.
no, it's the right of every free citizen to choose how they want to support or oppose something they believe or don't believe in...

I don't know - maybe some people just don't care...that's my point
...and it's there right to care or not - no one has the right to tell someone what they should believe in or not believe, care about or not care about
people assume everyone has time or energy to worry about the worlds problems - some people have problems of their own - that need their immediate attention

The war economy has been going on since WWII. Hitler's geopolitical war was economically motivated and about access to energy-oil. The U.S. built a huge defense system that has since become the backbone of our economy. Eisenhower warned us of an "Industrial-Military Complex" - and now it is the core of our troubled economic infrastructure. Those tax cuts hardly stimulated the economy in contrast to war.
yeah I thought a nice perspective was when I heard it reported that the cost of the war so far could have given every american free gasoline for a year
not to mention what it could do for the 3rd world....

actually I saw a program about Band aid and Live aid from when Geldof first got the idea in 1984 and it was SO amazingly inspiring
the guy decided at the end of november to do it, wrote it with Midge Ure, rounded everyone up, recorded it and managed to persuade the record companies to go all out and make it for the christmas releases which was previously unheard of - xmas singles where normally done as far back as may
but he managed with only 2 weeks left and it became the fastest and highest earning single in british history
where there's a will.....
Bono also commented on there how the Live aid thing netted £250 million and they were so ecstatic until they realised unpaid african debts were something like that per month

9/11- when I heard originally on the radio at work- the first thing I thought was
something to the effect of:
no way! There is no way we did NOT know about this in time to prevent it/stop the planes before hand~
We fucking knew a month before it happened.
Well, at least David Kay, Condi, and Bush knew!

Back in my day, I was a kid. Memories are impressionable at that age. Vinyl, radio free FM, music culture was amazing. It's why i've been in it for 20 yrs.
