Using the Mouse in Live

Post by AI_Joe » Fri Oct 31, 2008 4:32 am

I've just started using Live and have a quick question that I haven't found in the manual or doing a search on this board...

When controlling knobs and sliders with the mouse, I notice that the value will continue to be pulled in that direction while keeping the mouse button down, regardless of what direction I drag the mouse. Is there anyway to change this behavior so I can "scrub" the knob back and forth without having to let go of the button?

Are you sure?

None of the versions of Live I've had have behaved like that...

Well how bout that? Ableton Live apparently hates my Wacom tablet and mouse. Works fine with a regular mouse. I'll put this in the Bugs topics. Thanks.

Ah, the magic word "Wacom".

Can I use my Wacom Tablet/Digitizer Pen with Live.
Live does not support these input devices. You may experience parameter jitters and other problems.

I've used my Wacom for so long, I just consider it another mouse input device. Hence, I didn't search for "Wacom" and just thought that's how Ableton works.

That will teach me. Read the @#$% FAQ first. Looks like I'll be switching to a regular mouse since Ableton Live > Wacom. :) Thanks for all the help.

No worries - I sympathise though - tablets can be a really nice interface, it's a shame they're not supported... yet!
