I've heard a lot of people saying they use live with cubase and I've heard a few with logic. My main issue is stability-- I have a macbook pro so it can handle a decent amount, but I also have audio dropouts with logic once in a while and am considering moving over to cubase.
anyone have any experience or suggestions. I'm assuming it will be the typical depends on user- arguement, but sometimes one is better then other for live stuff.
I run softsynths and effects on live shows.
live + (logic) or (cubase) for live performace?

I would say neither and get Digital Performer.
Reasons are that if you're wanting to move and use many songs made up of full arrangement/timeline type views, Digital Performer makes this really easy with "chunks". Chunks are basically full sequences or parts etc. so you can load them into a "song" which is basically a timeline that lends itself well to 1-2-3 hour long sets, unlike folders in Logic or whatever solution Cubase uses.
Also this "song" (or live performance set) can use a virtual instrument "rack" that has all the instruments in it you want to play live. Plus the instruments you are not currently using, (even if they are being played by MIDI sequences in your tracks) do not cost CPU. <-- this is sort of true for Logic as well though.
Personally I have both, I switched to Logic years ago, and like plenty of things about Logic better etc. but DP is better suited for performance without having to use a separate application to play instruments live. I plan on using DP and Live live, not rewired, though maybe eventually.

Honestly I think after reading your take on DP I would suggest sticking with Live.
I've used Live alone countless times in live situations. I'm not trying to sound pedantic, but if DP is bad to you, then the others won't be any better. Some people just don't jibe with the major DAWs.
If it's just that Logic is glitching, do some troubleshooting.
