I currently use Live 6 a bit in my DJ set as a third sound source, i.e. I have a standard Serato Scratch Live setup going, and use Live to mix in additional loops.
I control Live with a Roland MC-909, basically the combination of the pitch slider, +/- pitch nudge buttons, and transport controls let me "play" Live just like it was a turntable or CDJ deck. I did this before with a Roland MC-307, which has the same kind of interface, although at the time the results were not as good (not sure if this was an older version of Live issue or a 307 issue).
Basically though I'd like to ditch the MC-909 for something smaller and cheaper, as it is a very expensive and big box to be using just for that, but I haven't found anything else that actually puts out MIDI Time Code and MMC, and also has the turntable-like interface. Everything else seems to just MIDI-map controls to the tempo value and I'm not sure how well the new nudge controls work (haven't upgrade to 7 yet).
Any other hardware out there with this specific combo of features?
thanx

thanks but don't want to automatically sync to something else, as I've found it doesn't always work with different music, plus sometimes Live is the primary thing playingekwipt wrote:The soundbite micro will do what you want but it doesn't have a midi pitch slider, it analyzes what's coming out of the headphones and automatically syncs the audio in live to the tempo of say serato. It works fairly well, i've got one myself
really want to be able to control it just like another turntable
