latency/click problem with external audio effect device

Post by divi » Thu Nov 13, 2008 10:43 pm

i developed me a very nice live gig setup controlled from my monome, with a max/msp interface layer, triggering midi clips in Live which in turn trigger patterns on my machinedrum and monomachine, with a kaosspad 3 thrown in to spice things up. i've setup routings in Live using external audio effect devices so that i can have none, one of both or both machines routed through the kaosspad with button presses on the monome.

problem is that i get audio hickups/clicks when i switch on/off the external sends to the kaosspad. my guess is it s due to latency between the dry signal and the wet which has to go out of Live (through a motu 828mk2 interface) in & out the kaosspad and back into Live. i ve tried tweaking the latency parameter of the external audio effect devices to no avail. i also tried building in a very quick automated dry/wet crossfade but it didn't solve the issue.

any ideas on this? my first gig with this setup is on saturday..
