Getting rid of unused wav files

Post by agargara » Tue Nov 18, 2008 2:52 am

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that Live often has a habit of leaving .wav files lying around even after they're no longer used in the track. For example, if you freeze a track, flatten it, edit it some more, then freeze+flatten it again, the original file still sticks around even though you're not using it anymore. Also, if you record some audio and delete it later it sometimes seems to still hang around...

Is there any quick way to delete these unused files other than manually hunting them down?

Yes, got to File -> Manage Project. From here you can select unused audio files and delete them all at once in the browser. An alternative would be to save the poject file to a new location on your HD, then do a "collect all and save" file command. That will only copy the files actually being used in the project.

Ah, thanks. I kind of figured I was just missing something really obvious
