Shame... and I was just about to get into these guys (been out of the loop you see). Imagine the conversation:
Justice Guy 1: Okay, so you're saying we have to click the Assign button, click every one of the knobs we use in this song, then wiggle a controller on this thing, click the Assign Button again, and then somehow save this as a preset on the MPD?
Justice Guy 2: Maybe there's another way...

can I be devil's advocate and say that look on his face is "what ze fuck is going on man, the knobs aren't working.... but I'm too goddam stoned/jetlagged/ketamined to do a goddam thing about it...oh well, we do without filter sweeps tonight, eh?"

i guess it's indicative of the state of the live electronica scene that our first instinct is to suspect foul play
as an addendum - Colin OOOD has a nord modular patch called the 'toothbreaker' which he loads whenever some punter suspects he's not playing live and bashes a few keys. it's like... a mega-synced, mega-FMd wall of distorto-noise at 1,000,000dB
