I just picked up ableton and live here in Dallas (well Carrollton anyway) and was wondering the same myself. I know that there are a few DJs that spin some progressive (e.g. Johnny Funk & Keane), but I'm not sure about producers. hopefully we'll start a trend.
i just started messing around w/ Ableton and am going through the tutorial DVD now. How far have you gotten?

Re: Progressive House - Dallas
I know these posts are from a while back, but I also live in the DFW area (Lewisville, unfortunately) and have recently acquired a copy of Ableton Live 8 Suite. I'd love to meet up w/ some locals who are at the same point I am in the learning process (i.e. noobs) to see if we can teach each other a thing or two. Let me know if either of you, or anyone else that lives in the area, would like to meet up.

I live in Arlington and have been messing around with ableton for about a month now. I really want to learn more. I have been reading the live 7 manual and watching videos, live 8 has a new warping function that Looks way better but I haven't even learned 7's warping yet. Some other things I wish I could learn about as well from other people. Would love to get together and trade knowledge.

I live in Grapevine and have been using Ableton for since live 6 came out. I am now using Suite 8. If any of you would like to get together let me know. Maybe I can help show you some of the ways that I have been using Ableton. Especially anyone just getting started.
BTW -
Macbook, Live 8 Suite, Novation X-station, Novation MKiiSL, FCB1010, Edirol M16DX mixer to name a few off my rig.

Re: Progressive House - Dallas
I'm interested in collaborating with some other DJ/Producers that know Ableton and are serious about making music. I'd like to collaborate with some people that are reliable and serious about making house music.
I've been using Ableton since 6. Also, I would be interested in working with some people long-term on a concept I've created where we produce a show mixing different flavors of house music with video/aftereffects. Please email me if interested at [email protected]. Check out some of our videos at http://www.vimeo.com/czarsofvinyl
I typically listen to tribal, electro, mainstream club, progressive house, house, tech house, disco house, and some breakbeats from time to time.
Finally, anyone interested in getting together once a month at a Starbucks or something to attempt to learn more about Ableton? Like a users group. There is one in Dallas on Facebook but they don't meet or do anything to help other people. We can start a page and Call it Ableton User Group Dallas Two or something. I'm interested in knowledge sharing and transfer, etc. Contact me at the above email address if interested. Thanks. Nick

Re: Progressive House - Dallas
We recently took over the Dallas Ableton Users Group and we have meetings on a consistent basis in Irving. Next meeting is on June 7th at 7pm. If anyone is interested in the group you can visit the Facebook page and join. The information for the next few meetings is on our page. We hope to see you there. Our May meeting had 26 attendees and I know quite a few people that didn't show. So it will get bigger and better. People at all levels from beginner to people that are selling their music. All Genres of music invited.
