I've selected my Digi002R as the interface for Live in Preferences, even configured which inputs and outputs I'd like to use, but for some reason the option to view the I/O in the menu is greyed out, so I can't assign an input to a track if I want to add some external synths or bass/guitar to my project. I don't what I'm overlooking, any help would be great...
Also, I realise selecting a midi clip opens the edit/piano roll window to edit the notes, but how do you go about drawing notes (from scratch - when you don't have the controller with you) from a VSTi on a midi track? Seems I can't get to the piano roll without an already existing midi clip...????
Thanks!
can't select I/O from menu!

sadly, the I/O in arranger view were axed along with the buss window in Live 4. There have been many posts begging for these feautures back and giving good reasons why....ableton has at least heard us, now we'll wait and see--check the beta forums for more info...
As for the "blank" midi clip---I think you can make one by either double-clicking or ctrl-double clicking a midi clip slot--you can then adjust the length, and start drawing or playing a will. 4 is fun thought, eh?

Hmm..can't quite figure this one out. I always work in the arranger window, never in Session, there just seems to be no way to create a midi track, insert Battery and start drawing a pattern from scratch...bummer.Anonymous wrote:

Also, not quite sure I follow you on the I/O situation. They took that feature out entirely? I just want to record my bass on an audio track like I used to in v.3!!!
Still no song markers I notice....
