old MOTU FW 828 = WAY MORE CPU HEADROOM. :)

So, I finally got a FW interface. MOTU 828 (the original).
And immediately i noticed that my CPU meter dropped considerably. THIS IS EXCELLENT. The sound quality is excellent and it performs perfectly.

I had no idea I'd gain CPU headroom by using a FW interface. I thought if anything is would eat up more CPU resources.

I think a 2nd is on the shopping list...

Just out of curiosity... What type was your old card? USB? PCI? Guessing USB...?

none. i was using the stereo analog out on my macbook.

i'd never use USB
