Mapping Effectrix

Post by avatar_888 » Sat Dec 13, 2008 6:36 pm

Hey,

I'm trying out Effectrix at the moment but I'm having trouble mapping it quite how I want. Is it possible to control the 'bypass' button or (or any other buttons that don't have variable values) from within live, and therefore the laptop keyboard (not midi)? It seems odd that all the slider values are exposed within Live but that simple buttons aren't, I must be missing something :)

Any help appreciated!

Hi. I don't have effectrix, but I would think that instead of using the bypass button within the plugin GUI, you can midi map the on/off switch within Live to your keyboard to achieve the same effect.

i dont know about mapping, but many parameters cannot be reached , because of the 128 limit parameter

It seems that any midi that gets sent to Effectrix is used to change the pattern. I assume that's what you meant - sending the notes directly to the plugin?

I didn't know about that 128 limit actually, how strange! Still, it seems odd that all the parameters made available are the sliders.

map it to the power off power on button. or, if there is a wet/dry master mix, map to that.

Yep that's the best I've managed to get, but with 'retrigger on wraparound' turned off it doesn't have quite the same function unfortunately.
