Subtract frequencies from A to B?
Is there a way to subtract (in real time) frequencies that hit in a track A, to a track B?
ie:
the classical use of basic comp sidechain is to lower the bass/pad when the kick is hitting,
I dl'ike to dynamically Eq instead of amp compression...this way It would lower only the low freq on the bass/pad when kick is still there, not lower the whole spectrum, then release the low freq when kick is'nt there anymore.
(kind of frequency sidechain subtract)
If I m not wrong this would be a perfect tool for mixing, would allow to never have overlapping frequencies...
so any thought it is possible??

I made a sweepable crossover with exactly this in mind.

The crossover is mathematically perfect, with Henke's help, so the crossover is completely transparent. Ideally this would be multi-band, but it works well for bass.

ok thank you gys for recommandations, but all I see here are still limited to one or two band,(the crossover(that is cool, i already got
technique will so be only one band) ideally I would need realtime invert equing, but that might be enough after all...
automating Eq is a solution but I ideally would like it to perform "LIVE".
I was wondering the benefits (I already use kind of crossover tek)
cause if the kick is a pitched down "sin" wave, and I d like to "invert Eq" the bass/pad that is playing at the same time, then the bass track would first be lowered only in the mids, then in low mids, then low end, the crossover tech doesn't allow such precise time variation equing... I thought about a combinaison of this tech and a sidechain filter, or someone suggested me to automat Eq with cc received from an envelloppe folower, wich seems to be the most accurate solution, but quite boring /cpu hog to setup,
just finding somehow it's strange such automatik sidechain invert Eq doesn't already exist in VST, maybe too much CPU hog....
but thanks anyway

I thought the Digital peak meter could help me a lot with what i want to do but unfortunately live can't receive midi data from an audio track... or did you found a workaround?morerecords wrote:blue cat audio plug ins for mac and pc too
