stuttering when mixing on ableton????!!!!!!!!???!!!!!!!!!

Post by freesian » Tue Dec 23, 2008 10:42 am

i am using ableton to mix my productions. i got 2 audio tracks set up with half my tracks on one side and the other songs on the other track. im using an external sound card made by native iinstruments and am using ableton live 7.

the problem is that my music is stuttering almost constantly. the stuttering becomes really noticable when there is a pad sound or something similarly smooth.

is this because the tunes havent warped properly or something.

my psytrance set isnt too stuttery because the bpm of all the tracks stay close to about 153 the whole time but when going to mix my ambient tracks beacause the bpms are so varied throughout the set the stuttering becomes really noticable.

i got to do both sets in new yesrs at a festival in ukraine and this is my only problem i need to face before i fly out on the 29th so would much appreciate some help.

thanks and peace

Which warp mode are you using? You may get more acceptable results using "Complex" mode for the more ambient stuff.

i changed the warp mode to complex and it didnt change anything. when a song is even a couple bpm out from what it originally was it stutters like a bitch. for example a song called swimmers is originally like 151 or something but unless its on exactly 151 it sttutters.

any one experienced this to?????

Sounds like you're not warping it right TBH mate. Have you tried following vinkalmann's guide?
