Hi there,
Basicly i have a new laptop, i am trying to record a mix direct from decks to ableton.
But when i tried to set up live to record from my mic in, via asio for all, there is a horrible screaching sound when i arm the channel.
i can hear the beat behind the horrible sound...but after a fidget with the opt's i still cant get rid of the unwanted sound.
I have read my preference book but cant diagnose the problem.
I have spent a long time trying to figure out the problem, any help will be apreciated!

Hello snafsnaf,
Welcome to the forum - please post bugs&problems in the bugs&problems forum...
It sounds like you have a feedback loop - do you have this noise as well when you mute the track while recording?
best,
Christian

Thanks Christian
Cheers for the help! I put another channel on solo so the armed track was on mute...this worked! But there is still an unwanted fuzzy sound in the back ground

It is not that bad but its definately not worth recording with.
Could this be fixed?
Chris

Is that a microphone built into the laptop along with camera for things like msn???
I will try to turn off now & get back to you.
