Problems with hiss using Live 6.0.10

Hi, hopefully someone will be able to help with the hiss problems that I'm experiencing when using Live 6.0.10.

I've got a Compaq Presario F500 Laptop running Vista Home Premium and am using an Edirol UA25 inerface.

I've dowloaded the Vista drivers from te Ableton site and have set the following Audio Preferences in Live:

Driver Type -MME/DirectX
Audio Input Device - Analog Connector (EDIROL UA-25) DX
Audio Output Device - Speakers (EDIROL UA-25) DX

I've tries all the obvious stuff like changing the leads, but when I record there's an unbearable amout of hiss on the track - almost as loud as the instrument!!

I'd be grateful if anyone could help me out with this.

HI Grim,

please use the latest ASIO driver for your interface (check the Edirol site for updates), set up the buffer size as described in the included "Setting Up Audio I-O" lesson. Do you still experience the problem?
