max for live - multi channel audio?
hi,
just wondering if max for live will allow multichannel audio in/out of a device? for example say i want to have audio in or out from channels 3/4/5/6 from the max device, while the track output is say going from track 2->3?

???
sure.
you can do that now with audio rewire. I'd bet that the Live max objects will include objects to route audio around.
then the only other small problem is applying proper surround sound panning laws and creating a joystick type of control interface to pan the sounds around, simple with max/msp.
omfg WHEN IS THE STINKING BETA GOING TO START!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no need, really- just do 4 or more audio outputs via plugout~ and route them from Live, yeah?leonard wrote:yeah, but the video says audio comes in from plugin~/plugout~, but i'm wondering if you can then put in separate dac~/adc~ objects in addition to this....Tone Deft wrote: I'd bet that the Live max objects will include objects to route audio around.

Yes - There is/will be a way to output multichannel audio from plugins created in Max for Live.leonard wrote:hi,

Re: max for live - multi channel audio?
Hi,
I'm trying to do this as well.
How does one reroute the audio in Live so as to get multichannel out?
I am trying to run VBAP (vector based amplitude panning) in max for live. i go from Live (via plugin~) to max, then through the vbap object, then I don't know where to send it. Dac~ 1 2 3 4 doesn't work, and plugout~ 1 2 3 4 sends back to the live channel, but it only handles channel 1 and 2. How can I extract the 3rd and 4th channel from that Live Track?
Many many thanks,
Nick

i have 8 tracks in ableton and i want to receive them ALL within a maxforlive device on channel 9 for example so i can then route all the 8 tracks into a netsend object.
I have a netreceive object on another machine wich runs max/msp, which IS able to handle multi channel audio
anybody know how to route my 8 audio tracks into one??
Thanks,
