TUNING DRUMS FOR SONG

Post by tnismo88 » Fri Jan 23, 2009 12:36 am

Hey whats up guys?

I tried searching for this and have hear dpeople always say how important it is to tune your drums to your song.

I use battery 3 samples and start out by making a kick and snare beat then add basslines, etc. I have composed plenty of songs and never had to tune my drums. I adjust the decay accordingly but do i never have to tune because i compose my bassline and tune around my drums?

If i wanted to tune my drums do I just do this by the adjusting the pitch. Any tips on how to actually tune drums?

Thanks

Yes, adjust the pitch and use your ears till they sound right.

Do an "all words" search on this forum for "Tuning Bass Kick to Key Of Song", a topic I started a while back-- there's some good answers there...
