Just a simple question I think.
i want to switch to a mac, and I wondered if there is anywhere of running PC vst plugins in Live ? Can you use one of the vmware dual operating machines and link via re-wire in some way (naively hopeful i know)
There are literally two whicjh I use, and hate to think of living without.. both are drum machines.

There is the option of booting into windows and doing all your audio work there.

That's really cool!!!
I might think of getting it... even if I forgot how to use Windows!

yes you can do it. I run parallels on my mac and am able to route my audio through windows only plugins. Though I am unable to save the als in windows, I can record the audio via Audio Hijack Pro, then take those audio files and bring them back into my ableton set on the os x side.

I don,t know if it,s possible but maybe Plogue bidule can do the trick and route audio to and from plugins in parallel windows?

Or you can boot into windows under bootcamp and do your stuff there.
I have done some tests but after one or two sessions i switched back to OSX.

By default in parallels all audio is controlled by OSX. In ableton (on the windows side) I don't even have a audio interface setup. I can't really explain much further than it just works. I record all audio from the windows side into audio hijack pro (a software that allows you to record the audio output from any application) Since audio hijack treats parallels as an osx application, I am able to record the audio output of ableton (on the windows side).

thanks only just saw these comments about parallels !! Funnily enough I just chanced upon the Parallels website and wanted to add it's details to this post. Has anyone else experimented any further ? The Audio Hijack route seems the easiest way..

glad someone else has picked up on this, wondering if anyone else has tried this with any degree of success??? Ive tried with a few differnt vsts, using different methods and just got crashes everytime, no luck at all - big shame. hope they get to fix it/sort it, and keep it free!!!
