[4649] Crash: Undo Quan on freshly recorded/flattened audio.
[4649] Crash: Undo Quan on freshly recorded/flattened audio.
Steps.
1. Created a 1bar midi clip with Operator playing 16th notes.
2. Froze midi clip then flattened it to turn it into an audio clip.
3. Dragged a clip of the "Amen Break" into audio channel and extracted groove.
4. Applied groove to the flattened Operator clip, committed it, froze it then flattened it.
5. I then Quantized the operator clip straight again, this seemed unsuccessful, Control +Z to undo, Live tells me it can't find the audio file, Control +Z AGAIN = crash.
The set was unsaved. (Report package sent)
This exact sequence is possibly irrelevant as I've had something similar happen on a clip dragged from the looper, groove quantized, frozen and flattened. When the last step was undone I got a message saying that the audio file could not be found and then Live crashed.
This was similar but not identical so I'll try and pin another one down. In all cases I was working with an unsaved set.

Just had a similar crash, this time undoing a quantize on a clip dragged from looper. Way less steps this time.
Create looper.
Record a loop.
Drag loop to an audio channel.
Right click clip waveform and choose quantize.
Control Z to undo, Live then tells me that it can't find the audio file, Control Z AGAIN = crash.
Crash pack sent.
This is in an unsaved set again, so I'm going to try it in a freshly saved one to see if it still happens.

This happens in the same way with audio recorded straight into a clip slot. It does not happen with any audio dragged from the browser.
Record audio, (or freeze and flatten)
right click waveform,
quantize,
control z to undo, Live can't find the audio file.
If the dialog box is then clicked to ok it it doesn't crash but displays a blank audio clip. If I then undo again it reverts to the state before the recording was made.
Control +Y to redo then brings the audio clip back again and I'm then able to quantize it and undo it again without a problem.

No change in beta 14.

Hi,
I can't reproduce the crash anymore in beta 14. Can you double check, and send another bug report maybe?
Regards,
Amaury

Hi Amaury.
When I said that there was no change in b14 I think I was just having a "lucky" day. Behavior has definitely changed because I can't make it crash every time now. I am still getting reliable crashes of a similar nature though (undoing quantizes on fresh audio) but no longer in a repeatable way.
Rather than send you huge crash packs with lots of unrelated activity in them I'll try and pin this down to predictable steps before sending anything.
Bear with me, I'll try and send you something sometime today.
Cheers.

No hurry. Just to let you know: there was an issue related to audio files not found after flatten, something then Undo. This is fixed. So the current one may not have to do with flattening but quantize only.

Hi Martyn,
The bug attached to this thread should be fixed. As I'm not sure if that was all, could you test again and report back?
