Help needed: Clip Automation Envelopes....

I am trying to get my head around clip envelopes. I have a drum rack, and have dropped a filter delay onto the chain for the snare. I want to modulate the filter frequency using a clip envelope. It sounds like it's working (I can hear the parameter being modulated), but the control does not appear to move or have the red dot when it's playing the clip. If I modulate the Volume of the mixer, I get the red dot showing the automated value. Can anyone explain why the two parameters appear to be handled differently?

I just tried to do the same as you did. And I found out that you only get an automation-indication on knob-like controllers. As the filter freq is only adjustable in a box with numbers, you can't see the automation though the value is actually automated. Try it wit other controls and you'll see what I mean.
