mass edit of clip start

Post by modflod » Tue Feb 10, 2009 1:48 am

Anybody knows how to mass edit the start of multiple clips in session view, using precise sec. mil.?
For example I want to have 10 tracks playing their clips at 0 in one scene. Copy paste that scene down and then have all clips start at 0:10:354. Is there a way to do that without selecting each and every clip and putting in the number?

dirty workaround: paste the clips into arrangement, split them at 0:10:354, select all clips on the right side of the split, hit ctrl-j for consolidate, cut-paste the consolidated new clips back into session view.

In Live 8 has anything changed regarding multiple clip edits?

We now have these handy dandy "auto" warp markers that show up on the transients, it would be really nice if we could use one of them to edit multiple clips.

In my set up I frequently record 3 stereo tracks simultaneously from my M3. Not all of the track have a transient right on the down beat. The drum track does however. It would be nice it I could use the first transient marker for the drum track to set the start time (set 1.1.1 here) for the other two tracks too. That would be so simple and easy to keep everything in sync and would make the workflow go so much smoother.

Is this possible in Live 8? Does anyone know of an alternate solution for this problem that would be as quick and easy?

Thank you for the thoughts!

at least in arrange-mode you can. select all the tracks, be sure to have the drum-track selected last so it shows in the sample window, and then activate a warp-marker on your first transient . the other clips will do the same. then you can select "set 1.1.1. here". this should aplly to the other tracks too.
you can set warp-markers for multiple tracks the same way. i edited a 8 track drum-recording that way, and now i´m tight as hell ;-)

cheers
