I'm finding that live 8 crashes quite easily if I've been hotswapping or changing presets on a track for a while. Similarily if I've been just playing keyboard on a plug-in or even one of Live's devices for a while, my session will usually end in a crash.

I send the crash packs whenever I get them, but there's really no other circumstances I can point out. It's usually an otherwise empty set and I'm just changing presets from the live library or playing an instrument.
