[awi] [8.0b11] hangs when recording MIDI control data

8.0b11 hangs when attempting to record MIDI control data from an external device.

I have to record the data in Logic Pro, as every attempt in Live fails :(

Actually this also happens in Live 7.14 but hopefully this will get resolved in 8.
