Live seems to take forever to display a directory when there's more then 200 files in it, and i have to alt-ctl-del to shut Live down if I try to open a folder with 1000 samples cuz it just hangs....Is this normal? Im sure the harddrive speed is a factor, but then other apps have no problem displaying a folder with thousands of samples in it in a few ms....
any suggestions?
thanks!
(note: using PC Athlon XP, WinMe, HD Maxtor 30gigs ATA66)
max # of samples in directory?
yeah, i put all samples in sub-directories with about 500 samples each and it takes about 2 seconds to open it. its not too bad but its definitely slower than sonic foundry acid for example which opens a directory with 2000 samples in no time. i wonder why its different in live. but now i've separated all my samples in sub-directories so its alright i guess. its just a pain to have to re-locate every sample in every song
other than that, live rocks! (well id love to be able to use my softsynths in it
