How to select the playing clip in a track PLEASE!!!!

Post by rsaulo » Thu Feb 26, 2009 2:20 pm

Hi all,

I´m going crazy trying to find a way to map a button on my controller to select the playing clip on a track to see the wave form of the clip without the mouse or arrow keys!!!

I can map a track selection to an button but live select the track, not the playing clip, this way I need to use the down or up arrow key to select the playing clip....

I want to be able to select an track with a single click in the midi controller and with another click select the playing clip of the track and be able to instantly use the clip functions like loop, transpose, lauch mode, etc....

A single click to select the track AND the clip would be better, but 2 clicks solves my problem too....

Anyone ???

thanks in advance....

if it's any consolation I've been looking for this for ages too. i have the advantage of always having the playing clip in row 1 (because of the way i work) so I could use some midi to mouse position program, but I don't really want to have anything else other than ableton and finder running cos my mac's not too fast!

the 'track status' indicator - (the little PIE chart thing or progress bar that tells you the clip progress) can be mapped in MIDI map mode

THANK YOU!

I've always wondered this too, and even resorted to using Traktor LE for gigs because I could never figure out how to switch to waveform view. I suppose I could have just read the manual, rather than glance over it and give up. Nonetheless, thank you for this tip!
