[amo] Drum rack will only open with simpler

Post by davethedrummer » Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:42 pm

trued to do the trick where you copy your default sampler into the dropping samples folder for drum rack
and it doesn't work
everytime i open drum rack and drop samples onto it they are opened in the simpler as before
not the sampler , it will be a problem if you like to use big kits

cheers

Hi,

It's working fine here on PC. Did you drag the Sampler preset to "Dropping Samples/On Drum Rack"? What is the name of the Sampler preset? Can you try again to save another Sampler preset there, and see if it fixes the problem?

nope
tried renaming it , still get the simpler
the default settings work when i open the sampler on it's own
but with drum rack it doesn't use my default setting
even when i select simpler>sampler it still uses the old factory default
strange, I use this feature a lot so its going to be a problem.

mac osx 10.5.6

you think it's a library thing?
maybe I should clean the library out and re-install

Hi,

No, you may not need to do anything to the Library.

Try the following:
- Delete the preset that you've got in "Dropping Samples/On Drum Rack".
- Drag Sampler to a MIDI track.
- Set it as your liking.
- Drag it to "Dropping Samples/On Drum Rack".

Now, create a new Drum Rack, and drag a sample to one of the pads. Is your Sampler preset used?

hi
sorry about the double posting
not sure if forgot or what happened...
anyway

same thing still happening
tried your method several times down to the letter
same thing....
always the simpler and always the factory default setting.
even when i drop a simpler i have set up myself into the dropping samples folder
when i drop a sample on drum rack
simpler comes up without my settings just default settings
have tried making default patches for both
still no luck
I'm downloading beta 18 now
I'll try it out and report back

regards

Hi,

Good, no need to blush! :)
For the future: to be sure you're looking in the right Library, use the "Library" bookmark, in the title bar of one of the custom Browser locations. It will show you the folders for the currently used Library.
