MPD24 question - controlling FX depth

A stupid question (maybe). I read a while ago a post stating that you could control the depth of an effect (eg. filter cutoff) by pressing the pads on a MPD24 harder or softer. To my knowledge, this is an aftertouch message and Live 7 doesn't work with these.

Is there any way to control this in Live, or convert the aftertouch to a MIDI CC#?

If this has been asked (or answered already) I couldn't find it. Any halpz?

AFAIK, you should be able to change the kind of message the pad outputs. You can do this on the Trigger Finger and PadKontrol, so there should be a similar capability on the Akai. The controller type needs to be a continuous midi CC and not a note with aftertouch.

Ah, bum. The pads only work under note on/off messages, or program change messages; you canny set them to CC#s.

I am having the same problem with the mpd24. I need to be able to have velocity sensitive control over fx in ableton. Unlike the trigger finger and the padkontrol you can not change the signal that the mpd sends to do anything other than toggle fx parameters. which is super lame.
anyone have any suggestions? please? this is killing me.

I haven't tried this, but I would think that by using MIDI-OX and MIDI-YOKE, you could remap the aftertouch to a CC#.
