I recently switched from a OS X 10.4.11 system to a 10.5.6 system when I bought a new system to replace a macbook pro that died. The old macbook pro was running 10.4.11 and Live ran perfectly.
Since switching to my new computer, a macbook pro running OS X 10.5.6, 2.5 GHz Core 2 Duo, and 4GB Ram, Live has crashed every time I have tried to enable the VST folder.
When I switched systems I used migration assistant to copy over my applications and settings, but I reinstalled Live, and I reinstalled any product that I knew was going to have issues from the migration (i.e. Native Instruments VSTs).
Anyhow, the crash has been happening when the VST scan hit my fabfilter plugins, so I reinstalled those since they are supposed to be OS X 10.5 compatible, but the crash keeps occurring.
I have trashed the Live preferences file and the plist.
I prefer using the VST versions of the plugins since the present management system is better.
Thanks in advance for any ideas on what to do.

Hi stepwriterun,
please make sure that none of the 2 VST system folders contains outdated versions:
HD: /Library/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
User: /'your-user-name'/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
Also, does Live scan the VSTs flawlessly when you remove the Fabfilter plugs?
If the problems persist, please contact [email protected] with your crash-log attached:
