Sample Rate problem- Live 4 rewire slave to Protools
I am on a mac G5 in OS 10.3 using Live 4 and Protools 6.4. I am running all my Protools sessions at 24 bit 96 kHz.
When I launch Live 4 as a rewire slave everything comes out at the wrong pitch, when I check the audio setup it says that Live 4 is running as a rewire slave at 44.1 kHz and there are no options that you can change in that menu.
I tried running Live as standalone and setting it to 96 kHz then quitting out and rebooting, then running it again as a slave to Protools but it has the same problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Dustin

Re: Sample Rate problem- Live 4 rewire slave to Protools
I wish I knew..This sucks since I am working on a film score and can't figure it out either.. I'll try live 3 for now and see if it works, which I am sure it will..Gdustinmosley wrote:I am on a mac G5 in OS 10.3 using Live 4 and Protools 6.4. I am running all my Protools sessions at 24 bit 96 kHz.

I sent an email to tech support..No response..yet

I assume they are aware of the Problem. I went back to Live 3 and it works fine after restart..

add me to the list
Same problem here: PT 6.4 24/96 sessions.
Live 3 never complained, but Live 4 fixed at 44.1.
Live 4 Rewire works fine when I run PT at 24/44.1 (obviously)
but doesn't stream at any higher sample rates than 44.1.
Wrote to tech support as well, waiting for response.

Rewire Protools still buggy locked at 44.1khz
Anyone heard from tech support on the Rewire issues with Live4 in Protools? Never got a response..
I heard that they may all be at some kind of trade show or something..
I think they should have someone fielding suport on such a radical and quick release.

What is the time frame on "coming soon" I need it for a film I am scoring and am not able to use it in the Protools mixed session I am in?Matthias wrote:Hi All,
thank you for your reports and sorry for the troubles.
the protools samplerate problem will be fixed with the
next update coming soon...
kind regards,
matthias
Thanks in advance,
G
That won't work for me becuase the film I am doing is has audio at 24bit 48khz and 96khz sample rates.Matthias wrote:hi Gives,
you can use live as a slave to protools, but because of the
bug only in a protools session with 44.1kHz. Unfortunately
I can not say when the update will be released, perhaps
in about one or two weeks (without any guarantee)
kind regards,
matthias
I look forward eargerly to the update.
