Hi Guys,
just got one of the Korg Nano Pads and I gotta say for the price they are the dogs danglies.
But I have a question in relation to configuring the XY Pad in Ableton to control the likes of the pads in Grain Delay, Auto Filter etc, namely how do you do it?
I'm stumped!
Thanks in advance,
Gavin

For AutoFilter,
Click on the number box beside Q
Touch xy pad on y axis at x = 0 (as far as is possible).
Then assign x axis to frequency (the number u see moving when u drag the circle on the graphic xy pad)

Brilliant.
I ordered my nanopad and nanokontrol t'other week. Excited I burst open the pack to find they'd sent me a nanokey instad of a nano pad! Grrr.
I sent it back. Waiting for pad. excited.
What I'm wondering is if you can assign the XY controller to control separate effects by selection or is it hard wired to each effect once you map it.
The pad has four 'scenes' doesn't it? meaning worst case scenario you can have four effects lined up to be controlled by the XY controller.
I love the nanokontrol, can't bloody wait for the pad to turn up!

Assuming the xy pad sends different MIDI data on each scene (seems safe to assume), then yes.UKRuss wrote:The pad has four 'scenes' doesn't it? meaning worst case scenario you can have four effects lined up to be controlled by the XY controller.

Otherwise you could use Bome's MIDI Translator to translate the MIDI data being sent from the xy pad on anyone scen.
You could use the pads as 12 switches.
Each onecausing BMT to define a global variable.
Then translate the input of the xy pad to output that variable as it's CC, or channel.
I don't remember if the free version of BMT does variables but I don't think so.
Other version isn't too expensive.
